Northern Roots partners with Child and Family Services agencies to support Indigenous families in Alberta. Guided by Cree-Métis ways of knowing and being, we honour each family’s identity, culture, traditions, community, and circumstances while providing tailored care that strengthens family bonds.
Northern Roots keeps Indigenous families together through a continuum of care—from sibling group homes, to reunification housing, to supportive rentals—rooted in Cree-Métis ways of knowing and being
Northern Roots provides care as a step-by-step journey, not as separate, standalone homes:
Phase 1: Sibling Group Care – Safe, nurturing spaces designed to keep brothers and sisters together.
Phase 2: Reunification Support – Transitional care that helps families reconnect and rebuild.
Phase 3: Supportive Housing for Caregivers & Children – Long-term housing designed to promote independence and stability.
